ABOUT THE PIPE
The critically acclaimed ‘The Pipe' is a compelling documentary of Rossport's struggle against the economic might of Shell and the tragic divisions that have split a once-peaceful and close knit community. This passionate and brave film scooped Best Documentary at its première at last year's Galway Film Fleadh and has since gone on to screen at the prestigious London, Toronto and Palm Springs International Film Festivals. Produced by Rachel Lysaght for Scannáin Inbhear, it was co-funded by the BSÉ/IFB and TG4.
ABOUT COLONY
The beautifully photographed ‘Colony' follows several American beekeepers over the course of two years, investigating the unexplainable phenomenon Colony Collapse Disorder which has seen a drop in almost a quarter of the number of bees in the United States, threatening the beekeeping industry. The documentary has garnered huge critical acclaim on the festival circuit, winning the First Appearance Award at the Amsterdam International Documentary Film Festival and having been selected for Toronto festival. Produced by Morgan Bushe and Macdara Kelleher for Fastnet Films, it was funded by BSÉ/IFB.
ABOUT THE RUNWAY
Feature film ‘The Runway', inspired by a true story, tells the tale of a South American pilot who crashed his plane in a field near an Irish town in 1983, and how the community came together to fix his plane and build a runway to get him home. The film lifted the top prize for Best Irish Feature at the Galway Film Fleadh and was selected for screening at the recent Palm Springs International Film Festival. It received financial support from BSÉ/IFB, Luxembourg Film Fund, Film I Vast, CIAV and Quickfire Films and was also produced by Fastnet Films alongside Lucil Films in Luxembourg.
ABOUT NA CLOIGNE
Irish television drama ‘Na Cloigne' is a contemporary supernatural thriller which features a young couple at the centre of an investigation into the violent and gruesome murders of two women. The highly praised three-part series, which screened on TG4 last year, boasts a host of renowned Irish acting talent including Dara Devaney, Siobhán O Kelly and Barry McGovern with well-known Irish language actors Mac dara Ó Fatharta, Joe Steve Ó Neachtain and Áine Ní Dhroighneáin among the supporting cast. ‘Na Cloigne' was produced by Ciarán Ó Cofaigh for ROSG with finance coming from BSÉ/IFB, TG4 and BAI.
