MAGDALENE SISTERS NOMINATED FOR 5 LONDON FILM CRITICS AWARDS

THE MAGDALENE SISTERS has been nominated for the Best British Film Award at this years prestigious London Film Critics Awards. THE HOURS, YOUNG ADAM, IN THIS WORLD and THE MOTHER were also nominated in this category. The awards are voted by Film Critics all over Britain and will be held on February 11th 2004. The other nominations for Magdalene Sisters include Best British Director and Best Screenwriter for Peter Mullen, Best Newcomer for Nora-Jane Noone and Best Supporting Actress for Eileen Walsh.

The Magdalene Sisters, which took over €1 million at the Irish box office, was co-produced by Element Films and co-funded by the BSÉ/IFB. It has been sold in almost all international territories by Portman Films and has won numerous awards worldwide including the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
