Course Profile:
Norman Garwood is an Award winning, Oscar nominated Production Designer, Art Director and Set Decorator. His experience spans more than 30 films which include: ‘Basic Instinct', ‘Hook', ‘The Life and Death of Peter Sellers', ‘The Princess Bride', and most recently the animated feature ‘Pirates'. The aim of this masterclass is to give art department personnel an insight into Norman Garwood's own personal experience of being a production designer, and for them to gain some knowledge on production designing many different types of movies.
Anna Rackard will facilitate this master class and begin by introducing Norman and discussing his work, how he began his career as a designer, the awards he has won and his big break with the feature film "Brazil". The afternoon session will cover Normans work on the films Misery and The Life and Death of Peter Sellers' and his recent work on the animated film 'Pirates'.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout the day.
