New Irish Cinema Screening at JDIFF
The Irish Film Board (IFB) is delighted to be the Official Industry Partner of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival which kicks off today 17th February.
The festival will have a strong focus on new Irish films, documentaries, animation and short films presented in association with the IFB.
Juanita Wilson's debut feature AS IF I AM NOT THERE will screen for the first time in Ireland following its wins for Best Film, Best Director and Best Script at last weekends IFTA's. Juanita previously directed the Oscar nominated short THE DOOR and was named in Variety magazine as one of ten directors to watch out for in 2011.
There will be a chance to catch SNAP and MY BROTHERS which screened at the Tribeca Film Festival last year to much critical acclaim and David Keating's horror WAKE WOOD before it's nationwide release in March.
The festival will have a special focus on Irish-European co-productions including the multi-award-winning ESSENTIAL KILLING, CIRCUS FANTASTICUS (aka SILENT SONATA), ISZTAMBUL and LAPLAND ODYSSEY.
Audiences will also get an opportunity to see a selection of the latest documentaries such as OFF THE BEATEN TRACK, BARBARIC GENIUS and MEN OF ARLINGTON along with a special programme of IFB funded short films.
