Screen Daily Gets Up Close with Albert Nobbs

The international publication Screen Daily has interviewed Glenn Close in a special feature on her latest project Albert Nobbs which is currently filming in Dublin.

Directed by Rodrigo Garcia and starring Close, the film tells the story of a woman who pretends to be a man in order to survive ultra-conservative 19th century Ireland.  The film which boasts an ensemble Irish and international cast including Aaron Johnson (Nowhere Boy, Kick Ass), Brendan Gleeson (The Guard), Mia Wasikowska (The Kids are Alright, Alice in Wonderland) and Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors), has been filming in the capital over the last few months.

The article interviews Close, who is a producer of the project as well as a co-writer, on the challenges she faced bringing Albert Nobbs to the big screen - something which took 15 years.  She talks about the team she's worked with and how it feels to realise her long awaited passion project.

Albert Nobbs was recently included along with This Must Be The Place in Screen's Hot 50 Films for 2011.
