The deadline for accepting submissions for Feature Film and Feature Documentary categories for the Galway Film Fleadh is Friday 25th March.
Regulations for submission and participation of Feature Films:
Best First Feature:
Irish, European and International fiction films are eligible. While many films are invited to the Fleadh in this category, the section is also open to entry. Films completed after January 2009 are eligible. The Fleadh gives priority to World and International premieres. All feature films are selected by the Programme Director in consultation with the programming associates.
Best Feature Documentary:
Irish, European and International Creative Documentary films are eligible. While many films are invited to the Fleadh in this category, the section is also open to entry. Films completed after January 2009 are eligible. The Fleadh gives priority to World and International premieres. All films are selected by the Programme Director in consultation with the programming associates.
Best Irish Feature:
Irish films from new and established filmmakers are eligible. While many films are invited to the Fleadh in this category, the section is also open to entry. Films completed after January 2009 are eligible. The Fleadh gives priority to World and International premieres. All films are selected by the Programme Director in consultation with the programming associates.
*Please note if your film has premiered elsewhere in Ireland it will be screened out of competition.
Submission Deadlines and Materials:
The submission deadline for selection purposes, which means the deadline for the festival's office to receive the required submission materials, is on or before 25th March 2011. The festival is not obliged to view late entries.
In all categories any Film that has been previously broadcast on television in Ireland or screened at another Festival shall have less priority in programming terms than those that may premiere at the Fleadh. All selected films are chosen by a panel of industry professionals. All winning categories are judged by the audience and/or a jury.
