The winner of the UNTITLED Screenwriting competition, run in association with Bord Scannán na hÉireann/The Irish Film Board (IFB) and the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival (JDIFF) was announced yesterday on the closing day of the festival.

THE BOGMAN KING written by Mike Ahern and Enda Loughman (D.A.D.D.Y.), beat the other four finalists to take home the prize of a first draft development loan of €16,000.

Whittled down from nearly 350 entries, the winning team was announced yesterday following a public interview chaired by Andrew Meehan (Development Executive, IFB) in which the five shortlisted teams had to present their comedy film idea and the first 25 pages of their script to a panel which consisted of JDIFF Director Grainne Humphreys; Cheryl Taylor, BBC's Controller, Comedy Commissioning, Irish film director Paddy Breathanach and comedy agent Caroline Chignell.

The four runners up were: Accidental Death & Dismemberment by Rob Cawley; Brave New Movie by Gavin Burke; Found by Ailbhe Keogan and Michael Kelly and The Good Kind by Mark Cantan who will all receive season passes to next year's film festival.
