Santas, Blacksmiths & Reindeers"¦Irish Animation Heads to Cartoon Movie
A number of IFB-funded animations will be taking part in Cartoon Movie this week.Cartoon Movie is a co-production forum for European animated feature films where producers have the opportunity to pitch their animation project in order to speed up financing, find cross-border partners and interest international distributors and sales agents.
This year Cartoon Saloon's SANTA'S APPRENTICE, Barley Films LITTLE CARIBOU, Brown Bags NIGHTGLIDER and Magma Films' LEGENDS OF VALHALLAH THOR and NIKO 2 make up five of the 56 projects selected to pitch in four categories - concept, development, production and completed films.
The two day forum, which is neither a festival nor film market, is taking place in Lyon, France. There are over 700 participants from 35 countries and 210 buyers including 95 distributors attending.
Since the first Cartoon Movie in 1999, over 156 films have raised finance of €1.2 billion at the forum.
Cartoon Movie takes place in Lyon, France March 2nd - 4th.
