Virtual Cinema Short ‘The Monk & The Fly’ Becomes YouTube Hit
The short animation THE MONK & THE FLY has become a YouTube hit after being selected as one of the websites ‘featured' clips on its home page and receiving over 64,000 hits overnight.
The Monk & The Fly which was written and directed by Matthew Darragh and produced by Sean Smith for Souljacker tells the story of how a contented monk has his relaxing day disrupted by a fly. It was one of nine shorts produced through the Virtual Cinema scheme which premiered at last year's Darklight Film Festival.
The Virtual Cinema scheme aims to encourage the exploration of fresh filmmaking, using innovative and original techniques but can hold the attention of the YouTube audience.
