IFB Delighted to Sponsor Short Film of the Year at National Student Media Awards

Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB) is delighted to announce their involvement again in the National Student Media Awards.

For the fourth year running the IFB is the official sponsor of the awards - this year as official sponsor of the Best Short Film category.

The National Student Media Awards recognise and celebrate young Irish talent in all aspects of media ranging from the conventional Editor and Paper of the Year awards to multimedia awards, such as Short Animation Feature and Website of the Year and of course Best Short Film.

This years nominees for the Best Short Film are:

Eilis Abbott, Glen Berry, Svenja Preisler, Gary White, Phil Martyn and Jonathan Casey - A Right to be a Father - National University of Ireland Galway
Gary White - The Hate Machine - National University of Ireland Galway
Tommy Fitzpatrick - Small Change - Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design
Eoghan McQuinn - The Chance of Striking Gold - Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design
Kevin O'Dowd - Bad Reception - Tallaght Institute of Technology

The winner will be announced by Oscar nominee Michael Creagh (The Crush) at an awards ceremony in the Mansion House on Wednesday, April 6th which will be presented by television celebrities Kathryn Thomas and Dáithí O Sé.
