Carmel Winters Debut Feature SNAP Hits Irish Cinemas April 8th

SNAP, written and directed by Carmel Winters goes on release in selected Irish cinemas on Friday 8th April.

Starring Aisling O'Sullivan, Eileen Walsh, Stephen Moran and Mick Lally, this gripping psychological drama which is Winter's debut feature film, centres around three generations of a family poised to repeat the mistakes of the past.

Since premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York last year, the film has garnered rave reviews and picked up prizes such as the Variety's Critic's Choice Award at the Karlovary International Film Festival last year and the Best Irish Film and Best Irish Director awards at the Dublin Critic Circle Awards earlier this year.

This is the fourth week in a row that an Irish film has been released in cinemas following Between The Canals, Rewind, Wake Wood and Essential Killing releases over the last month.

SNAP has been receiving positive reviews and press, with a lot of praise of Aisling O'Sullivan's performance.

"O'Sullivan is electric as the acerbic Sharon in ‘Snap', another top notch movie from an Irish filmmaker making their debut.... marvellous stuff"  Entertainment.ie

Produced by Martina Niland and Samson Films (Eden, Once) SNAP was funded by the IFB and Screen Scene.
