Team from IADT Scoop the Best Short Film Prize at the Student Media Awards
Bord Scannán na hEireann / the Irish Film Board (IFB) would like to congratulate Tommy Fitzpatrick, Luca Rochinni, Conor Fitzpatrick, Kelly McGuill and Pete Walker from IADT who picked up the Short Film Award for their film Small Change at the Oxygen.ie National Student Media Awards which took place in the Mansion House, Dublin last night.This was the fourth year the IFB have been involved with the Student Media Awards and the second year to sponsor the Short Film Award. The standard of entries was incredibly high and the judging panel were very impressed by the level of talent these young filmmakers displayed.
There were a lot of submissions in this category, which were short-listed down to five. The team were presented the top prize by the Oscar® nominated Michael Creagh (The Crush) for their impressive short film Small Change. It was the second award of the night for the short which also picked up the prize for Film Script of the Year (Cathy Brady).
The National Student Media Awards were a huge success with students from colleges all over the country in attendance. They were hosted by television personalities Kathryn Thomas and Dáithí O Sé, with 32 awards handed out rewarding excellence in student media.
Congratulations to the IADT team who scooped the Short Film Award for Small Change.
