FRAMEWORKS Shorts Win at the Digital Media Awards

Irish digital animation filmmakers were big winners last Saturday night at the Irish Digital Media Awards, where Frameworks funded shorts picked up three awards.

In the first of the animation categories, Jam Media won the award for 2D Animation for its short animated film Escape which was funded through the Frameworks short film scheme. The winners overcame competition from Adculture, Interactive Services, MusiCan, Tiger Beer and Roswell Media, and TerraGlyph Productions.

Kavaleer Productions picked up two awards. The first was for 3D Animation for their short animated feature The Milliner , which beat off competition from Caboom, D.A.D.D.Y, Piranha Bar and Post IT. Kavaleer also picked up the Digital Storytelling Award for The Milliner . This short film was also funded through the Frameworks scheme.

Frameworks aims to add to the range and scope of Irish animation and is funded by BSE/IFB, RTE and The Arts Council.
