IFB Seminar - The Natural Environment & the Impact of Audio Visual Production.
In a continuing effort to ensure Ireland maintains it’s film friendly reputation, the Irish Film Board's Locations Services hosted a one day seminar on the 2nd February 2004 entitled The Natural Environment & the Impact of Audio Visual Production.Fifty delegates attended the seminar with a representation from location management, production management, art department, as well as our partners in the Network of Regional Film Office’s.
The seminar presented an opportunity for Government Agencies with a responsibility for the natural environment to communicate their role to Irish filmmakers. Contributers included the National Parks & Wildlife Service, Coillte, Department of the Marine, Teagasc, Wicklow Mountains National Park, Eastern Regional Fisheries Board, Natura Ltd, Údarás na Gaeltachta and the Wicklow Film Commission. Other speakers included the production and location teams behind KING ARTHUR and TRISTAN & ISOLDE.
It was agreed by the National Parks & Wildlife Service, the Irish Film Board as well as the other speakers that a set of guidelines should be developed to address this increasingly complex area.
The event was organised by the Location Services section of the Irish Film Board, which promotes Ireland as a film location to overseas producers.
