JDIFF OPENED LAST NIGHT WITH TIMBUKTU WORLD PREMIERE

Last night the world premiere of TIMBUKTU opened The Jameson Dublin International Film Festival (JDIFF) which was launched by John O'Donoghue, the Minister of Arts, Sport and Tourism. The film, which screened to a packed audience, was directed by Alan Gilsenan and stars Eva Birthistle, Karl Geary, George Jackos, all of whom attended the premiere.

TIMBUKTU, a dark road-movie set in the North African Sahara, was co-produced by Yellow Asylum Films, Fantastic Films and MR Films and was funded under the Irish Film Board’s low budget feature scheme.

Other Irish films which will be screening throughout the festival include BLIND FLIGHT, THE HALO EFFECT, THE HONEYMOONERS, and HEADRUSH. BSE/IFB have also sponsored an in-depth public interview with Stephen Gaydos, the executive editor and managing editor of VARIETY, as part of the Jameson Dublin Film festival special events. This event will take place at the IFI, cinema 2 on Wednesday 18th February.
