BSÉ/IFB Sponsors Seachtain na Gaeilge Shorts Screening

Bord Scannán na hÉireann/The Irish Film Board is delighted to be sponsoring a special screening of OSCAILT short film, which will take place this Saturday as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge 2004. This screening will feature a selection of short films in the Irish language, produced under the OSCAILT scheme which is co-funded by TG4 and the Irish Film Board.

There will be award winning classics included in the programme such as LIPSERVICE, starring Sean McGinley and CÁCA MILIS starring Brendan Gleeson, together with more recent titles such as TANGO produced by local filmmaker Ita Kelly. The short film CLARE SA SPÉIR, which has been put on the Irish national curriculum for secondary schools next year, will also be screening.

SEACHTAIN NA GAEILGE is the annual national week long festival organised by Conradh na Gaeilge to promote the Irish language. The festival is used as a means to celebrate the Irish language with activities and events organised throughout the country in order to facilitate the promotion and use of the Irish language.

The screening will take place at 4pm on Saturday 13th March in the Town Hall Theatre, Galway. Admission is €4.
