IRISH FILM COWBOYS AND ANGELS SCOOPS INTERNATIONAL DEALS
David Gleeson’s COWBOYS AND ANGELS continues to attract international sales deals including high profile theatrical sales to Scandinavia and Germany. The deals, which were concluded by sales agent Media Luna at the recent American Film Market (AFM) in LA, will mean that the low budget Irish film will get cinema releases in the highly competitive German and Scandinavian markets. Salzgeber will handle the German release of the film and CCV will release in Scandinavia. In addition, the TV rights have been sold to Canal Plus for Scandinavia.
These deals come on the back of the recent sale to TLA Releasing in the US, who will preview COWBOYS AND ANGELS at the Philadelphia Film Festival on April 15th and will release the film in US cinemas in July.
COWBOYS AND ANGELS is the directorial debut of David Gleeson and it is produced by Natalie Lichtenthaeler at Wide Eye Films. Already, it has been picked up for Irish distribution by Buena Vista Ireland (International) and shall be released mid 2004.
"We are delighted for the filmmaking team behind COWBOYS AND ANGELS and it is very encouraging to see Bord Scannan na hEireann-backed Irish films securing distribution deals in the marketplace that will allow them to connect with audiences both at home and overseas," said Bord Scannan na hEireann/Irish Film Board Chief Executive Mark Woods.
