Over 20 Irish Films from Element Pictures Distribution Now on Netflix


Netflix and Element Pictures Distribution today announced a multi-year licensing agreement to add over twenty Irish films to its expanding library of film and TV content for Irish and UK members to instantly watch.

The new film titles added to the Netflix service through the partnership with Element Pictures Distribution will bring an eclectic selection of critically-acclaimed and award winning independent Irish films to a mass audience in Ireland and the UK.  Films now available on Netflix for just €6.99 per month include Lenny Abrahamson's Garage, the most successful Irish film at the box office in 2007 starring Pat Shortt; Lance Daly's Kisses, Ken Wardrop's award winning His & Hers, and from Oliver Hirschbiegel Five Minutes of Heaven starring Liam Neeson and James Nesbitt, winner of Best Director and Best Screenplay at Sundance.

More recent Irish releases added to Netflix include: the darkly comic Sensation featuring a standout performance from Domhnall Gleeson; the hilarious Parked starring Colm Meaney in what has been hailed his best performance to date; and The Runway, a charming family film starring Oscar nominated Demián Bichir.

The Netflix selection in Ireland and the UK already includes critically-acclaimed Irish films such as Neil Jordan's Ondine starring Colin Farrell, Jim Sheridan-directed In America with Sarah Bolger as well as the Oscar winning Once, starring Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová.
