THE HONEYMOONERS PERFORMS WELL AT IRISH BOX OFFICE
THE HONEYMOONERS, a romantic comedy directed by Karl Golden, went on theatrical release in Ireland last month. With a budget of under €1 million THE HONEYMOONERS was released on 5 prints and has taken almost €50,000 to date, with new openings in Sligo and Cork. The film stars Jonathan Byrne and Alex Reid and tells the story of a jilted groom and a waitress who make an unlikely alliance and find themselves in the depths of rural Ireland.Produced by Samson Pictures in association with Utah Films, THE HONEYMOONERS was funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/Irish Film Board, the Northern Ireland Film and Television Commission and TV3 and distributed by Eclipse Pictures.
