'COWBOYS & ANGELS' WINS AT NEWPORT BEACH
Bord Scanna na hEireann/Irish Film Board backed COWBOYS & ANGELS has won the award for Best Screenplay at the prestigious Newport Beach Film Festival 2004 in California, USA.Written and directed by David Gleeson, in his feature film debut, and produced by Nathalie Lichtenthaeler for Wide Eye Films Ltd. the film was presented with the award on Friday night last in front of a packed auditorium.
More than 350 films from around the world were showcased at this year's Newport Beach Film Festival, including the world premiere of Pierce Brosnan's new film "Laws of Attraction", which was shot on location in Ireland
Commenting on the win, David Gleeson said "I'm delighted and honoured that the Newport Beach Film Festival has bestowed this great honour on COWBOYS & ANGELS. I'm thrilled that the film has touched a chord in the US."
COWBOYS & ANGELS opens in Ireland through Buena Vista International in July prior to its US release in August. International sales are handled by Media Luna , which will be screening the film at next months Cannes market.
