The Irish hit Beantown! Irish Film Festival Boston starts today


The Irish Film Festival Boston kicks off today with the brilliant Run & Jump, winner of Best Irish Feature and Best First Irish Feature at the Galway Film Fleadh last summer. Director Steph Green, producer Tamara Anghie and Ruth McCabe, one of the film’s stars, will be at the screening in the Somerville Theatre tonight from 7.30pm. Click here for more info. Run & Jump will be accompanied by a short film called Volkswagen Joe by Brian Deane.

Tomorrow night, Life’s A Breeze is on the bill, and its star Kelly Thornton will be in attendance. The short film Breakfast Wine will also play, and its director, Ian Fitzgibbon, and star Dylan Moran will be there for the show. Click here for more info.

The programme continues over the weekend with IFB-funded documentaries Skin in the Game, Men at Lunch (Lón sa Spéir) and The Irish Pub and the multi-award winning short The Missing Scarf among the many titles on offer. Click here to see the full programme.
