Continued Success for Irish Animated Short Coda on the International festival circuit

Fast becoming a festival favourite, the animated short film Coda has again impressed judges and audiences alike as it continues its festival run across the world.

The nine minute hand drawn animation, has picked up a further three international prizes in the past week winning Best in Show at Animation Block Party (USA), the Audience Choice Award at the Seoul International Cartoon & Animation Festival (Korea) and joint Best Animated Movie at Kraktofil Plus (Bosnia & Herzegovina).  These awards coupled with the fact the film has already collected top awards at other major  festivals including South by Southwest, SICAF 2014, Fest Anča, Edinburgh Short Film Festival and the Galway Film Fleadh clearly shows the film has struck a chord on an international stage.

With further screenings at upcoming festivals including Traverse (USA) and Odense (Denmark) the impressive winning streak for this short film may not be over yet.

Directed by Alan Holly and produced by Ciarán Deeney, the film voiced by Brian Gleeson (Standby, The Stag, Love/Hate) and Orla Fitzgerald (The Wind that Shakes the Barley) tells the story of a lost soul who stumbles drunkenly through the city. In a park, death finds him and shows him many things.

Coda was produced under the innovative Frameworks animation scheme and was funded by the IFB, RTÉ and the Arts Council.
