IFB funded animation The Ledge End of Phil (from Accounting) selected for the 20th Encounters Short Film Festival
The Ledge End of Phil (from Accounting) a short Irish animation funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB), RTÉ and the Arts Council through the Frameworks animation scheme, has been selected to screen at the Encounters Short Film Festival which takes place in Bristol from September 16th - 21st.
Written and directed by Paul Ó Muiris and produced by Pearse Cullinane for Cartoon Saloon, the short animated film tells the story of Phil, who becomes stuck outside looking in and he is forced to face the world he has been ignoring. He must take a leap of faith or be trapped forever.
Encounters Festival, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year has become known as the UK's leading short film and animation festival and is an annual meeting place for new, emerging and established filmmakers and industry professionals. Providing a single platform for celebrating talent and innovation, the festival presents an annual International Competition, Industry Forum and an inspiring programme of screenings and events during the festival week in Bristol, UK. This year the festival presents 20/20 Looking back to look forward which looks to connect the past to the future, the 20/20 programme celebrates short film from its origins in the analogue medium to the expanded worlds of live audio-visual and interactive cinema creation.
