Noble goes on general release in Irish cinemas from today

Noble, the film telling the inspirational true story of Irish humanitarian Christina Noble, goes on general release in Irish cinemas from today.

Written and directed by Stephen Bradley, Noble stars Deirdre O’Kane in the title role with Sarah Greene and Gloria Cramer Curtis playing Noble at earlier stages of her life. The film portrays Noble overcoming her oppressed and impoverished childhood in 1950’s Dublin. In 1989 she flies out to Ho Chi Minh City and with nothing but a few dollars, a dream and her hard won courage, she manages to change the lives of hundreds of thousands of people forever. Through her determination, she proves that it only takes one person to make a difference.

The film also stars Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones, Hunger), Ruth Negga (Love/Hate, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey, Lark Rise to Candleford).

Noble has been praised by critics as "sensitive and well-executed" (RTÉ Ten) and as "a moving, dramatic, harrowing and funny story about a quite remarkable woman" (The Herald)

Noble has screened at international film festivals and won top prizes, including Best Feature at the Boston Irish Film Festival, Audience Award at the Dallas International Film Festival and the Panavision Spirit Award for Independent Cinema at the Santa Barbra International Film Festival.

Noble was produced by Destiny Films and received funding from Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board. You can watch the trailer for Noble here.
