Dark Sky Films picks up rights to Irish horror Let Us Prey starring Liam Cunningham

Dark Sky Films has picked up the rights to Irish horror film Let Us Prey.

Let Us Prey is the debut feature film of director Brian O’Malley and stars Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones, Hunger) and Pollyanna McIntosh (Filth, The Woman). The film stars Cunningham as an enigmatic stranger who’s detained overnight in a small town police station, where his dark influence takes over the minds of the inmates and officers around him, resulting in a night of blood-spilling and mayhem.

“Director Brian O’Malley instantly proves that he is a new director to watch,” said Greg Newman of MPI Media Group, owner of Dark Sky Films. “Solid performances from fan favorites Pollyanna McIntosh and Liam Cunningham should cement Let Us Prey as a worthy entry in the exciting new wave of Irish horror.”

Let Us Prey previously won the Le Méliès d'Argent for Best European Fantastic Film at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival. The film was also well-received following its screening at the Montreal Film Festival in July. Quipmag.com noted that O’Malley “brings the audience the perfect blend of suspense, gore, and humor”, while playbackstl.com praised the film's “strong sense of location” and “excellent use of humor”.

Dark Sky films plans a US release for Let Us Prey in Spring 2015. It was produced by Brendan McCarthy and John McDonnell of Fantastic Films (Last Days on Mars) and Eddie Dick of Makar Productions (Outcast). Watch the trailer on YouTube.
