Irish-filmed Ripper Street Series 3 to Debut November 14th on Amazon Prime Instant Video
The third series of the thriller Ripper Street, which was filmed in Dublin, will make its debut on Amazon Prime Instant Video on November 14th. The subscription-on-demand service will release Ripper Street to subscribers once a week on Fridays at 9pm, beginning with a double-bill on November 14th.
Ripper Street was filmed in Dublin, in locations including Clancy Barracks, Trinity College, Dublin Castle and Kilmainham Gaol.
Starring Matthew Macfadyen (Spooks, Robin Hood), Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones), Charlene McKenna (Raw), Adam Rothenberg (Alcatraz) and MyAnna Buring (The Descent, Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part II), Ripper Street follows the notorious H Division, the Police Precinct charged with keeping order on the meanest streets imaginable: late Victorian Whitechapel. It is a series of one-hour thrillers that transport audiences into the dark heart of London as it stumbles toward the twentieth century.
Ripper Street has benefitted from Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board’s International Production Fund and the first and second series generated approximately €20 million for the Irish economy in terms of spend on local goods and services. The first and second series employed 5,000 Irish cast, extras and crew, providing approximately 170,000 Irish work hours per series.
Ripper Street is produced by Tiger Aspect Productions and Lookout Point and co-produced in Ireland by Element Pictures with funding from BBC, BBC Worldwide and the Irish Film Board.
The third series will be broadcast on BBC1 and BBC America in early 2015.
