‘Let Us Prey’ Secures Audience Award at Festival de Cine de Terror de Molins de Rei

Irish-Scottish horror film Let Us Prey has won the Audience Award at the Festival de Cine de Terror de Molins de Rei in Barcelona, Spain.

Let Us Prey previously won the highly-sought Le Méliès d'Argent for Best European Fantastic Film at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, as well as the Audience Choice Award for Best Music at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival.

Let Us Prey is the debut feature film of director Brian O’Malley and stars Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones, Hunger) and Pollyanna McIntosh (Filth, The Woman). The film stars Cunningham as an enigmatic stranger who’s detained overnight in a small town police station, where his dark influence takes over the minds of the inmates and officers around him, resulting in a night of blood-spilling and mayhem.

The film received positive reviews following its screening at the Montreal Film Festival in July. Quipmag.com noted that O’Malley “brings the audience the perfect blend of suspense, gore, and humor”, while playbackstl.com praised the film's “strong sense of location” and “excellent use of humor”. Meanwhile ImpactNottingham.com described Let Us Prey as “a taut, beautifully shot horror-thriller” and hailed “O’Malley’s first feature closes as a resounding success.”

The film has secured distribution from Dark Sky Films in the US, Raven Banner Entertainment in Canada and Kaleidoscope in the UK.

Let Us Prey was produced by Brendan McCarthy and John McDonnell of Fantastic Films (Last Days on Mars) and Eddie Dick of Makar Productions (Outcast). Watch the trailer on YouTube.
