Morgan O'Sullivan, Cathal Gaffney Receive IADT Honorary Fellow Award

Congratulations to Irish producer Morgan O'Sullivan and co-founder and CEO of animation studio Brown Bag Films, Cathal Gaffney for receiving the Honorary Fellow Award from Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT) at its Conferring Ceremony on Wednesday November 19th in the RDS, Ballsbridge.

The Conferring Ceremony saw the graduation of over 560 students across IADT. At the event the President of IADT, Dr Annie Doona, had this to say, "The IADT Conferring Ceremony is always a wonderful occasion and an opportunity for students and their families to celebrate their achievements."

Dr Doona continued, "We are delighted to introduce the Honorary Fellows Award this year. It is a mark of distinction that IADT can award in recognition of outstanding achievement in scholarship or practice, contributions to industry or public service related to the mission and vision of IADT, or to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the development of IADT. The Honorary Fellows are an inspiration to our students and graduates."

The Irish based Producer Morgan O'Sullivan accepted the Honorary Fellow Award in recognition of his contributions to the Irish film and television industry. Morgan O'Sullivan has worked on films such as "Braveheart" and "Veronica Guerin" and TV productions such as "The Vikings" and "The Tudors". He is a member and Chair of the Advisory Board of The National Film School which is located on IADT's campus.

Co-founder and CEO of animation studio Brown Bag Films, Cathal Gaffney also accepted an Honorary Fellow Award at the Conferring Ceremony for his contributions to the film, television and animation industry. As a Director his short film ‘Give Up Yer Aul Sins' was nominated for an Academy Award® and he has received many nominations and awards since, including a Daytime Emmy nomination as Executive Producer for Peter Rabbit.
