Shorts Funded by the IFB Amongst the Winners at the Corona Fastnet Film Festival
Schull’s Corona Fastnet Film Festival has successfully concluded for another year, with a wide range of prizes won by short films funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board.
The Best Irish Short Film award was picked up by John Kennedy and Ruairí O’Brien for their short Cutting Grass. The 12 minute film stars John Hannah, Karl Rice, Scott Graham and Donal Courtney. Ruairí O’Brien was also won the Best Cinematography award for his work on the short.
David Tynan’s Rockmount, which follows a young Roy Keane, was the winner of the Best in Cork award. The Best Screenplay prize was taken by Alan Friel for Sophie at the Races.
The award for Best Original Music was won by Matthew Nolan, Lioba Petrie and Cameron Doyle of 3epkano for their score for Somewhere Down the Line. The animated short from Cartoon Saloon was directed by Julien Regnard.
