Element Pictures Acquire the Irish and UK Rights to Mark Noonan's 'You're Ugly Too'

Element Pictures have announced that they have acquired the Irish & UK rights to Mark Noonan's debut feature YOU'RE UGLY TOO.

The film stars Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones) as Will, who is released from prison on compassionate leave to care for his niece Stacey (Lauren Kinsella; Albert Nobbs), after the death of her mother. As they both head into the sleepy Irish midlands and attempt to be a family, they suffer a series of setbacks. Stacey is refused admission to the local school because of her recently developed narcolepsy; Will repeatedly comes close to breaking his prison-ordered curfew; and his attempts at being a father figure to her prove disastrous...

YOU'RE UGLY TOO had its world premiere earlier this year at  the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival where it was praised by critics and audiences alike with the Hollywood Reporter commenting that "the film showcases lovely, unforced performances from Aidan Gillen and Lauren Kinsella ."

Ahead of its Irish Release, YOU'RE UGLY TOO will screen as part of the Edinburgh International Film Festival in June in the New Perspective Strand  which celebrates work from emerging filmmakers. In July, the film will return home to screen as part of the much-loved Galway Film Fleadh with an Irish release date set up July 24th

Speaking on the release, Director Mark Noonan commented that "We're very excited to be working with Element Pictures Distribution for the forthcoming release of  YOU'RE UGLY  TOO.  The film was made with lots of love by an extremely talented cast and crew, and I'm thrilled we're going to be able to share that with Irish audiences this summer."

YOU'RE UGLY TOO was produced by John Keville and Conor Barry for Savage Productions and was written and directed by Mark Noonan. The film was funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board.
