Corin Hardy’s The Hallow is Added to the Lineup of Film4 Frightfest

Corin Hardy’s horror film The Hallow has been selected to screen at this year’s Film4 Frightfest in London. This joins the previously announced Cherry Tree at the festival, which is regarded as one of the UK’s most renowned genre film festivals.

The Hallow had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January. Directed by Corin Hardy and filmed in Co. Galway, the film follows a London-based conservationist (Joseph Mawle, Ripper Street) who moves to Ireland with his wife (Bojana Novakovic, Edge of Darkness) and baby, to survey an area of ancient forest believed by the superstitious locals to be hallowed ground. He unwittingly disturbs a horde of terrifying beings and must fight to protect his family. The film also stars Michael McElhatton (Game of Thrones) and Michael Smiley (The World's End).

The film was produced by Occupant Entertainment and Fantastic Films. It was funded by Prescience, Altus Media, Hyperion and the IFB.

Film4 Frightfest 2015 takes place in London’s West End at the Vue, Leicester Square, between August 27th and 31st.
