Gerard Barrett’s ‘Glassland’ is Released on DVD and VOD from Friday, July 31st
Glassland, the acclaimed second feature film from director Gerard Barrett, will be released on DVD and VOD from Friday, July 31st.
Glassland stars Jack Reynor (What Richard Did), Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense), Will Poulter (The Revenant) and Michael Smiley (The Lobster). Reynor stars as a young taxi driver on the fringes of the criminal underworld who, in a desperate bid to save his mother (Collette) from addiction and unite his broken family, is forced to take a job which will see him pushed further into its underbelly.
Glassland attracted strong reviews upon its release. Entertainment.ie described the entire cast as “flawless” and stated that “Gerard Barrett is a major talent.” The performance of Reynor was hailed by many publications including Total Film, who said that “he holds the screen like a pro – always thinking, tapping, twitching with silent fury”, while the Irish Daily Star hailed him as “a gifted and charismatic lead.” The Irish Times praised Collette’s performance as “frighteningly convincing in her screaming torment” while the Irish Examiner remarked that “Glassland represents incredible work as the second film from a very young filmmaker.”
Glassland is available to rent and buy on DVD nationwide and on demand from iTunes, UPC and Volta. DVD stockists include HMV, Xtra-vision, Tesco, Golden Discs, Tower Records, the Irish Film Institute (IFI) and the Light House Cinema.
