Poland Selects Polish-Irish co-production '11 Minutes' for Academy Award® Consideration
The Polish-Irish co-production 11 Minutes has been chosen by the Polish Film Institute as Poland’s submission for the Best Foreign Language Film Academy Award®.
11 Minutes was directed by Jerzy Skolimowski, and follows the same 11 minutes in the lives of several different characters representing aspects of modern society. What they all have in common is an enigmatic sighting of the elusive dark spot, seen in the sky earlier that day, and the tragic chain of events that will seal their fate. The film's cast includes Richard Dormer (Good Vibrations, Game of Thrones).
11 Minutes has this month screened at both the Venice International Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival.
This follows on from last week’s news that Viva has been chosen by IFTA as Ireland’s submission for the award.
