‘You’re Ugly Too’ Starring Aidan Gillen is Out Now on DVD and VOD
You’re Ugly Too, the directorial debut of Mark Noonan, is out now on DVD and VOD.
Starring Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones, The Wire) and Lauren Kinsella (Albert Nobbs), You’re Ugly Too premiered in Official Selection at the Berlinale Festival earlier this year, where it was nominated for the Best First Feature Award. It has won awards at the Galway Film Fleadh (Best Irish First Feature), Japan’s Skip City Film Festival (Best Screenplay) and at the Athens Film Festival (Best Screenplay).
Gillen stars as Will, who is released from prison on compassionate leave to care for his niece Stacey (Lauren Kinsella; Albert Nobbs), after the death of her mother. As they both head into the sleepy Irish midlands and attempt to be a family, they suffer a series of setbacks; Stacey is refused admission to the local school because of her recently developed narcolepsy; Will repeatedly comes close to breaking his prison-ordered curfew; and his attempts at being a father figure to her prove disastrous.
The DVD is available from HMV, Xtra-Vision, Tesco, Golden Discs, Tower Records, the Irish Film Institute, the Light House Cinema and the Element Pictures Shop at www.elementpictures.ie/shop. It is also available on iTunes, Volta and Virgin Media On Demand.
You’re Ugly Too was produced by John Keville and Conor Barry for Savage Productions and was written and directed by Mark Noonan. The film was funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board.
