NEW AWARD WINNING IRISH DOCUMENTARY TO BE BROADCAST OVER CHRISTMAS

Robert Quinn's award winning documentary CINEGAEL PARADISO will be broadcast over the Christmas holidays on TG4.

CINEGAEL is an independent cinema set up by filmmaker Bob Quinn in the 1970’s, in which his son, the director Robert Quinn, lived as a child. The film focuses on the contribution the cinema made to the cultural life of the community, but also to the Irish film industry itself, acting as a home for, and catalyst to, radical ideas and attitudes within the film industry at the time.

The documentary scopped the Best Documentary Prize at the Galway Film Festival 2004 and was produced by Distinguished Features and co-financed by Bord Scannan na hEireann/the Irish Film Board (BSE/IFB) and TG4, with international sales being handled by High Point Films & Television.

SEAN O'CASEY- Under a Coloured Cap" , the documentary which explores the life and work of the great Irish playwright Sean O’Casey and is directed by his daughter Shivaun O’Casey, will open the new season of Arts Lives documentaries on RTE1 in January. SEAN O'CASEY- Under a Coloured Cap was produced by Green Crow Productions with funding from BSE/IFB and RTE.

CINEGAEL PARADISO will be broadcast on Thursday 30th December on TG4 at 21.05 and SEAN O'CASEY- Under a Coloured Cap will be broadcast on RTE 1 on January 4th at 10.15pm.
