Bord Scannán na hÉireann / the Irish Film Board is the national development agency for the Irish film, television and animation industry, investing in talent, creativity and enterprise.
The agency supports writers, directors and production companies across these sectors by providing investment loans for the development, production and distribution of film, television and animation projects. As part of the Board's statutory remit it also promotes Ireland as an international destination for film production. As part of this strategy the Board wishes to engage an Inward Production Manager. The person taking up this position will play an important role in the growth of the Irish film and TV sector over the next number of years.
The role involves the marketing of Ireland and its urban and rural locations and landscapes. The role will also involve the promotion of our first class crew base, the film and television production tax incentive, screen talent and the infrastructure for screen content production in Ireland. The successful candidate will also work with local and international filmmakers to ensure Ireland remains a film-friendly location by providing on-the-ground logistical support via partnerships with key urban and rural partners.
Inward Production Manager - Essential Experience and Qualities
The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of Ireland and its urban and rural locations and landscapes. They must have a thorough knowledge of the logistics and dynamics of film production in Ireland. They should also have an in-depth knowledge of the infrastructural offering in Ireland and a knowledge of the depth of the Irish crew base.
The ideal candidate will have
- Experience of working in the Film and Television industry essential.
- Ability to assess production requirements from Scripts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication, team work and administration skills.
- Ability to prioritise and to perform to a high standard under pressure while working to tight deadlines.
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining sound business relationships.
This position will be offered on a 2 year fixed consultancy contract. The fee will be €65,000 for a 12 month period. This position is directly responsible to the CEO. The post will be based in Dublin and will involve some national and international travel.

Detailed Job Description
- You will be responsible for the promotion of Ireland internationally as a location for screen content production - this will be through establishing and nurturing relationships with local and international producers.
- You will be responsible for the maintenance of strong business relationships both with the local industry and with the international industry.
- You will also be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with key strategic Irish partners including IDA, Enterprise Ireland, Tourism Ireland and other stakeholders.
- You will be responsible for the development of positive pro-business initiatives that will contribute to enhanced levels of production.
- Developing and maintaining the network of stakeholder partnerships in the regions.
- Developing and maintaining the network of stakeholder partnerships in Dublin.
- Oversee the development of the IFB Locations database.
- Contributing to IFB marketing campaigns.
- Develop and maintain a strong relationship with industry Guilds including the Location Managers Guild.
