Special Screening of CINEGAEL PARADISO during the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival
There will be a very special screening of the award-winning feature documentary ‘CINEGAEL PARADISO - Once upon a time in Connemara’ during the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival this Friday 18th February.The screening is presented by the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland and will be followed by a special post-screening discussion entitled ‘Directors in Dialogue’, with director Robert Quinn and his father film-maker Bob Quinn being interviewed by writer and director Gerry Stembridge.
Directed by Robert Quinn, CINEGAEL PARADISO is a film dealing with CINEGAEL, the independent cinema set up by film-maker Bob Quinn in Connemara in the mid 1970’s in which his son (Robert Quinn), lived as a child.
The film focuses on the contribution the cinema made to the cultural life of the community and documents an important, and so far untold, aspect of Ireland’s film and cultural history, making an important contribution to Ireland’s cinematic archive.
Winner of Best Documentary Feature Film at the Galway Film Fleadh and Boston Film Festival last year, CINEGAEL PARADISO was produced by Distinguished Features with co-financing from BSE/IFB and TG4.
The screening will take place this Friday 18th February at 4pm in the UGC Cinema, Parnell Street, Dublin 1.
