Eileen Gray biopic THE PRICE OF DESIRE in cinemas this Friday
This Friday, May 27th sees the limited theatrical release of the Eileen Gray biopic The Price of Desire, which stars Orla Brady in the leading role.
The Price of Desire is the controversial story of how Eileen Gray's influential contribution to 20th century architecture and design was almost entirely effaced from history by the egotistical Le Corbusier. The film also charts her relationship with philanderer Jean Badovici, which further fuelled the rift between the two architects, consigning her legacy to a century of neglect and long-overdue recognition.
Directed and produced by Mary McGuckian, The Price of Desire stars Orla Brady as Eileen Gray. Brady was nominated for an IFTA for her portrayal of the designer. Alanis Morissette, who made a musical contribution, also stars. The Price of Desire, produced by The Little Film Company and Pembridge, premiered at the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival in 2015.
In Ireland, screenings take place in the Light House Cinema, Dublin, Triskel Arts Centre, Cork and Eye Cinema, Galway. Please see here for a complete list of screenings.
