Star Wars: Episode VIII Wraps Filming in Ireland Along the Wild Atlantic Way
After a successful two week shoot at coastal locations on Irelands ‘Wild Atlantic Way', the Irish leg of Star Wars: Episode VIII wrapped in Dingle, County Kerry, on Wednesday 25th May.
Star Wars: Episode VIII is due for release in December 2017, directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman. The production is currently based at Pinewood Studios.
Pinewood Productions Ireland co-produced through its wholly owned subsidiary, Space Bear IR DAC. Pinewood Group wishes to thank the Irish Government, particularly the Department of Arts Heritage & the Gaeltacht, for their support throughout pre-production and principle photography.
To celebrate the shoot wrapping in Ireland, Rian Johnson, Director of Star Wars: Episode VIII, tweeted: "I [love] Ireland That's a wrap on the emerald isle. Thanks to all the lovely amazing people here who have made our shoot extraordinary", with actor, Mark Hamill, following with "And thanks for those responsible for allowing us to make Ireland's staggering beauty a part of the #StarWarsUniverse".
