The Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences today announced that they are extending membership invitations to 683 ‘distinguished filmmakers, artists and executives who represent the best in our global film community, and who have made a lasting impact on movie fans everywhere'. Ireland is represented by Room director Lenny Abrahamson, writer Emma Donoghue, editor Nathan Nugent, and producer Ed Guiney, along with Brooklyn director John Crowley, Cartoon Saloon's Nora Twomey, The Shore director Orlagh George, and Stutterer director Benjamin Cleary.
