Documentary at Galway Film Fleadh 2016

This year's Galway Film Fleadh presents some truly impressive documentary titles including the world premiere of Frankie Fenton's It's Not Yet Dark which tells the inspiring story of My Name is Emily director Simon Fitzmaurice.

Esteemed documentarian Ken Wardrop (His & Hers) will attend the Irish premiere of his latest film Mom & Me which explores men's relationships with their mothers in the US's ‘manliest state' of Oklahoma.

In Bobby Sands: 66 Days, Brendan Byrne examines the legacy of the Northern Irish hunger striker. Crash and Burn from Seán Ó Cualáin (Men at Lunch), who will attend the screening, tells the story of Tommy Byrne who for one brief moment in the 80's was the world's best racing driver. Following a world premiere in Edinburgh, Lost in France charts the story of the creative hotbed that is the Glasgow indie scene. Director Niall McCann and Stuart Braithwaite (Mogwai) and Stewart Henderson (Chemikal Underground) will attend.

Risteard Ó Domhnaill's Atlantic forms part of a culinary event taking place in Galway Harbour. Laura McGann's Revolutions is an exciting story of the fast-paced and aggressive world of roller derby. Irish co-production The Land of the Enlightened is a visually sumptuous examination of war-torn Afghanistan.
