I AM NOT A SERIAL KILLER wins top honour in Strasbourg

I Am Not a Serial Killer has won the top prize at Strasbourg European Fantastic Film Festival. Set in a small Midwestern town, the film tells the story of John Wayne Cleaver, played by Max Records (Where the Wild Things Are), a troubled teen, diagnosed a sociopath, who must hunt down a paranormal serial killer in his hometown. Max Records stars alongside Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future) and Laura Fraser (Breaking Bad).

Billy O'Brien and Christopher Hyde adapted Dan Wells' best-selling 2009 supernatural thriller, of the same name. O'Brien also directed the film produced by Nick Ryan (The Summit) of Floodland Pictures with James Harris and Mark Lane of London based Tea Shop & Film Company (Cockneys vs Zombies, The Anomaly). The film was shot by Robbie Ryan (Slow West, Jimmys Hall) on location in Northern Minnesota.

I Am Not a Serial Killer premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival on March 13, 2016. The movie received simultaneous limited theatrical and video on demand releases on August 26. It is in competition for the Golden Melies, a pan-European prize awarded by the European Fantastic Films Festivals Federation which will take place in October, during the Lund International Fantastic Film festival in Sweden.
