Moscow Never Sleeps released in Irish cinemas, November 11

Johnny O’Reilly’s Moscow Never Sleeps is released in Irish cinemas today (Friday, November 11). A multi-narrative drama that dives headlong into the volatile intersections of contemporary Moscow and the intimate lives of five people, the film is written, directed and produced by O’Reilly, with Katie Holly and Andrey Zakharov also producing.

The film presents an entrepreneur whose business empire comes under siege by powerful bureaucrats, a teenage mired in the misery of a broken home, a young man forced to choose between his girlfriend and his grandmother and a beautiful singer torn apart by the pursuit of two men and an ailing film who gets embroiled in a bizarre kidnapping. Over the course of one day, their lives will change forever as Moscow Never Sleeps explores the hidden bonds that connect us all.

Starring many of Russia’s best-known actors including Alexey Serebriakov, the film aims to give audiences a unique view of Russian humanity and to present a true impression of a vibrant culture overshadowed by egregious governmental policies.

Moscow Never Sleeps is a Blinder Films and Snapshot Films production and was financed by the Irish Film Board and Eurimages.
