'The Ten Steps' nominated for Méliès d'Or
SP Films short 'The Ten Steps', funded has been nominated for a Méliès d'Or at the recent Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival, where it also won the Best European Short award.The Méliès d’Or Competition for features and shorts is organised by the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation (EFFFF). With the organisation of a Méliès d'Or competition, the Federation intends to highlight the quality and originality of European cinema and to guide the renewal of the genre film on the entire continent. The Méliès Competition is held with support from EU's MEDIA-Program .
The short films selected by each festival are called “Méliès d’Or Nominees”. The Méliès d’Or for shorts is awarded by the same jury as for the features and the 10th Méliès d'Or Ceremony will take place at Espoo Cine International Film Festival in August 2006.
Starring Jill Harding, 'The Ten Steps' was written and directed by Brendan Muldowney, and produced by Conor Barry with funding from BSE/IFB, Filmbase and RTE.
