IFTA Award Winners Announced
The Irish Film & Television Academy award ceremony took place in Belfast last Friday the 17th January. Out of a total of 20 categories, 11 projects supported by the Film Board took home awards.Best Film, Best Director of a Feature Film and Best Script went to the critically acclaimed Bloody Sunday, produced by Hell’s Kitchen and Granada Films. Best Documentary Series went to The Ghost of Roger Casement, produced by Crossing the Line Films and US Boys, produced by Igloo Films, won the Best Single Documentary category.
Caca Milis, directed by Jennifer Keegan won Best Short Film and Brown Bag’s Give Up Yer Aul Sins topped the Best Animation category.
The awards, which are operated on a biennial basis, are voted and judged by Irish film and television industry practitioners and are Ireland’s primary film and television awards.
