DICK TERRAPIN Selected to screen at prestigious Los Angeles AFI FEST

DICK TERRAPIN, the animated short film directed by Damien O'Connor, has been selected to screen as part of the prestigious AFI FEST in Los Angeles, where it will receive it’s US premiere.

Now in its 19th year, AFI FEST 2005 is presented by Audi-the AFI Los Angeles International Film Festival and is the longest-running film festival in Los Angeles. It is one of the most influential film festivals in North America premiering films such as HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS, CITY OF GOD and O BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU?

DICK TERRAPIN has also been nominated for an Irish Film and Television Award in the category Best Animation where the winners will be announced at a ceremony in Dublin on the 5th November, and in addition it is has been selected for national competition at the Cork Film Festival which runs from October 9th-15th.

DICK TERRAPIN was produced by Vinegar Hill as part of the Frameworks short film scheme which aims to add to the range and scope of Irish animation. Frameworks is funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board, RTE and the Arts Council.
