TARA ROAD Tops the Box Office in its 1st weeks release in Ireland

TARA ROAD, directed by Gillies Mac Kinnon was the Number One film on release during its first week at the Irish Box Office*. Distributed by Buena Vista, this is the World Premiere release of the film which opened on October 7 on 44 prints. Ferndale Film’s TARA ROAD took €203,000+ in its first week.

TARA ROAD is based on the bestseller by internationally acclaimed Irish author Maeve Binchy (selling over 5 million copies worldwide). TARA ROAD is a heart-warming, poignant story about two wonderful women who suffer turmoil and tragedy; swap homes and lives and shows the healing power of friendship. Directed by Gilles McKinnon, it has a strong ensemble cast which includes internationally renowned Andie MacDowell; Olivia Williams and Ruby Wax plus a wonderful local cast of Stephen Rea, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Bronagh Gallagher and Brenda Fricker.

TARA ROAD is a humorous, hopeful and heartfelt story of friendship and loyalty, second chances and living life to the fullest, starring Andie MacDowell, Olivia Williams, Sarah Bolger, Iain Glen, Stephen Rea, Bronagh Gallagher, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Ruby Wax and Brenda Fricker. TARA ROAD was produced by Ferndale Films with funding from Bord Scannan na hEireann / the Irish Film Board.
