Two New Staff Appointed to the Irish Film Board

Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board is delighted to welcome two new staff to the agency. Mark Byrne and Niamh O’Reilly have been appointed to the positions of Business & Legal Executive and Executive Assistant respectively.

Mark Byrne worked as an entertainment lawyer for the past three years and prior to this was Head of Business and Legal Affairs for an independent production company. Mark also recently acted as co-producer on the feature film MIDDLETOWN starring Matthew MacFadyen which will be released in Irish cinemas later this year. Mark will be responsible for a substantial amount of the agency’s contracting requirements across all expenditure initiatives. This role involves negotiation with producers and co-financiers, and liaison with lawyers as well as government departmental officials.

Niamh O’Reilly has been working in the entertainment and events management business for a number of years. She has spent the last year working on a temporary basis at the Irish Film Board as acting assistant to the previous CEO, Mark Woods, and to Teresa McGrane as Deputy CEO. In her newly-confirmed position Niamh will manage the diary, administration and filing requirements of the present CEO, Simon Perry, will monitor and manage the flow of information within the various units of the agency.
