THOMAS LYNCH: THE UNDERTAKING TO SCREEN ON RTE TONIGHT

THOMAS LYNCH: THE UNDERTAKING screens on RTE 1 tonight, June 5th at 10.15pm as part of RTE’s Arts Lives series. Directed by Cathal Black, the programme focuses on the poems and essays of an Irish descendent Thomas Lynch, a funeral director at Lynch & Sons funeral home in Milford, Michigan. The themes of his work are “sex and love and grief and death - the things that make us and undo us, create and destroy, how we breed and disappear and the emotional context that surrounds these events”.

With full access to his life and work, this documentary, brings the audience into his unique world, viewing life and death through his eyes. THOMAS LYNCH: THE UNDERTAKING was produced by James Mitchell and Aisling Ahmed with finance from Bord Scannán na hÉireann/The Irish Film Board. A 70’ theatrical version of the documentary will be screened at upcoming film festivals. Sales are being handled by Little Bird info@littlebird.ie.
