The successful Frameworks projects are announced.
The latest successful Frameworks projects have been selected.
Frameworks is a short film scheme exclusively for animation which makes creative use of the medium. It was set up in 1995 with the aim to develop new talent and skills in this area and is funded by the Irish Film Board, RTE and the Arts Council.
Major successes from this scheme include Give Up Your Aul Sins, produced by Brown Bag Films in 2001 which was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Animated short Film category. The Crumblegiant directed by John McCloskey and produced by Pearse Moore recently won the second prize for Best Irish Short Animation at the Galway Film Fleadh.
This years successful projects are:
- Granny Grimm's Sleeping Beauty to be directed by Nicky Phelan and produced by Darragh O'Connell in Brown Bag Films. Brown Bag Films recently received a special mention for it's use of 3D technology for Ding Dong Denny's History of Ireland, at the Galway Film Fleadh earlier this month.
- Sandpiper to be directed by Jimmy Muakami and produced by Peter Fleming at Jimmy Murakami Films.
- Reflections to be directed by Andrew Kavanagh and produced by Ciara Gillen in Kavaleer Productions.
- Bad Robot to be directed by Ruairi Robinson and produced by Nick Ryan with Image Now Films.
- The Rooster, the Crocodile & the Night Sky to be directed by Padraig Fagan and produced by Barry O'Donoghue in Barley Films. Barley Films previously produced the award winning short Agriculture Report.
This years Frameworks will premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh in July 2008.
